MEDICARE SUPPLEMENTS

Medicare Supplements

  • Original Medicare, Part A and Part B, will cover 80% of Hospital and Medical expenses. Medicare Supplements will cover the additional 20%.
  • Medicare Supplements are plans that cover all or some of the gaps that Original Medicare (Part A and Part B) do not. All plan benefits are standardized, meaning Plan A benefits are exactly the same from company one company to another.
    • When you initially turn 65 you have an opportunity to apply for Medicare supplements as well as Medicare Part B during the three months prior to your birthday, during your birthday month, and three months following your birthday. Coverage will usually begin the first of the month when you turn 65. If your birthday does fall on the 1st of the month, your coverage will begin the 1st of the month prior to you turning 65.
    •  Medicare beneficiaries also have a yearly opportunity to compare Medicare supplement prices. Within 30 days of your birthday you can change your Medicare supplement without answering health questions to take advantage of your guaranteed issue. Your new supplement will begin the 1st of the following month.
  • We also assist our clients in navigating Part D (Prescription Drug Coverage) as well as Advantage Plans. This Special Enrollment Period is October 15th – December 7th each year.
